How Novado works

The short version of everything. If something here doesn't match what you see, write to us and we'll fix it.

Get started

Novado is in public beta. Join the waitlist on the home page and we'll email you an invite. If someone on your team already uses Novado, ask them to invite you from Settings → Team & roles.

When you sign up, Novado makes a workspace with one pipeline: Lead, Qualified, Proposal, Won, and Lost. Rename the stages or add pipelines in Settings → Pipelines. Set your time zone and currency in Settings → Workspace; dates, reminders, and money all follow them.

Contacts

  • Add one by hand from Contacts. ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) searches everything.
  • Import a CSV from Contacts or Settings → Import & export. Novado matches the columns for you. A row with an email you already have updates that contact. To keep a list together, like everyone from a trade show, use Import list on the Segments page: the people get the list’s name as a tag, and a segment follows it.
  • Forward an email to your workspace address, shown on the Integrations page. The sender becomes a contact, and the email lands on their timeline.
  • Connect Gmail or Outlook and people who write to you become contacts. Newsletters and automated mail don't.

Segments are saved lists built from rules, like “tag is client and last contacted more than 30 days ago”. They update themselves. Email a whole segment from its page.

Need a field Novado doesn't have? Business plans add custom fields to contacts and deals in Settings → Custom fields.

Deals and tasks

Drag a deal between stages on the Pipeline. A deal that sits in one stage too long gets a stale badge; set how long in Settings → Pipeline defaults. Mark a deal won or lost and it leaves the open value.

Tasks can hang off a contact or a deal. Novado reminds whoever it’s assigned to 15 minutes before a timed task, in the app and as a desktop notification. The daily digest email lists what’s due; turn it on or off in Settings → Notifications.

Pro plans and up get Reports: value by stage, won and lost by period, activity by person, and conversion between stages. Each exports to CSV.

Email

Connect Gmail or Outlook on the Integrations page. Novado reads mail to and from your contacts and puts it on their timeline. It sends from your own address, so replies come back to your inbox. Meetings from your calendar show up too.

Save follow-ups you send often as templates in Settings → Email templates. Use {{first_name}} and friends to fill in each person's details.

Open and click tracking is off until an admin turns it on for the workspace. It adds a tiny image and rewrites links, so you can see when an email was read. Some people's mail apps block it, so treat a missing open as “unknown”, not “ignored”.

Assistant

Ask the assistant about your workspace in plain words: “which deals are closing this month?”, “who haven't I talked to since June?”. It answers from your contacts, deals, tasks, and emails, and shows which records it used.

It can draft an email, propose tasks, or suggest a stage change. It never acts alone. Every draft and change waits for you to click. Nothing sends, changes, or deletes without you.

Each plan includes a monthly number of questions per member. Admins can turn the assistant off for the whole workspace in Settings → Assistant.

To answer, the assistant sends your question and the records it looks up to Anthropic, which runs the model. To find records by meaning, Novado sends the text of notes and emails to OpenAI to index them. Turning the assistant off stops both.

Team and roles

  • Owner: everything, including billing and exporting all data.
  • Admin: everything but billing: invites, settings, integrations.
  • Member: works with contacts, deals, tasks, and email.
  • Viewer (Business): sees everything, changes nothing.

Invite people from Settings → Team & roles. Owners can require two-factor sign-in for everyone in Settings → Security, and see and end active sessions there.

Integrations

Everything lives on the Integrations page:

  • Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook: email and meetings on the timeline.
  • Stripe and QuickBooks: see a customer’s invoices on their deal. With QuickBooks, turn a won deal into an invoice.
  • Slack: won deals and stale deal alerts in a channel.
  • Zapier, API keys, and webhooks (Pro and up, webhooks on Business): connect anything else. The API reference is at app.novado.app/api/v1/openapi.json.

Missing one you need? Use “Request an integration” at the bottom of the page.

Desktop app

The desktop app runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux. Download it from the home page and sign in with the same account. It updates itself, and every update is signed.

Press ⌘⇧N on a Mac, or Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows and Linux, to add a contact from anywhere, even when Novado is in the background. Reminders show up as system notifications.

Plans and billing

Free covers one person and 100 contacts. Starter, Pro, and Business are per user, monthly or yearly; see pricing. Owners change the plan in Settings → Billing. Manage billing opens Stripe, where you update your card, download invoices, or cancel. When you cancel, the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then drops to Free. Nothing is deleted.

Your data

Owners can take everything out any time from Settings → Import & export → Export all data: a zip with a CSV for contacts, deals, tasks, and activity. Each workspace's data is kept apart from every other in the database, not only in the app.
